Anne and Andy Walls met on the dance floor in 2004. With a shared passion for dancing, they opened their first business, Dance With Me, in 2005 and primarily focused on teaching couples to dance for their first dance. They taught mostly out of their home and rented various venues for larger classes. In 2010, they opened the Savoy Ballroom. Their goal with the Savoy was to give Dance With Me a beautiful home and also to offer those in and around Springfield a beautiful, unique, and truly historic ballroom for hosting weddings and other special events.
Our namesake, “Savoy,” comes from the world-famous Savoy Ballroom, operating in New York City from 1926 to 1958. The magnificent New York Savoy, with a proud reputation for music and dance, epitomized elegance and class and will forever be remembered for its timeless charm.
Our Savoy Ballroom features original maple hardwood floors, stunning 14-foot high tin ceilings, nine brilliant crystal chandeliers, and an impeccably landscaped courtyard. Elegance and charm in a quaint urban setting.
